SWAMP SERENADE

The rees and the thrums
harmonized as the drums
While the chortles gurgled a watery tune.
The bleep-bloops chimed
in melodious time
To baritone belching at the rising full moon.
Two honks kept blasting
at each other in passing
As the screes violined an impassioned plea,
the girls in soprano
the boys in tenor
As they bargained all night noisily!
The bulrushes rustled
with Ma Nature's hustle
and the moon silvered rings on the pond.
Whippoorwill and a hoot
Scooped up careless loot
'til the coming of silent dawn.
